Music and skills in workplace

MUSIC workshops are being introduced into the business world to develop skills in the workplace.

Sogno workhops are run by Mike Cockburn, who believes his innovative approach to leadership coaching can be very beneficial.

Staff attend the workshops where activities such as drumming and acting are on the agenda. They work with actors and must address behaviour and body language to change the outcome of fictional scenes.

Samba drumming is also used to encourage team building and to energise the staff. Each team member must play a different rhythm and slowly they are merged into one piece of music.

The musical activity is aimed at resembling the way teams must pull together in the workplace, with each member of staff working on an individual task that will come together in a final project.

Those participating in the workshops also get the chance to take part in a Myers-Briggs personality typing, helping the workshop leaders tailor activities to their individual needs.
