PONTELAND United claimed another scalp to make the semi-finals of the prestigious Northumberland FA Senior Benevolent Bowl.

Just weeks after defeating Premier Division opponents Blyth Town to make the final four of the league cup, the Division One side battled hard to come from behind and remove higher ranked Wallsend Town from the county cup.
In the only other Saturday senior football game featuring a local team, Prudhoe Town returned from their trip to Redcar Athletic with a useful point following a 1-1 draw.
Haltwhistle Conservatives reaffirmed their position as favourites for the Hexham and District Sunday League crown as they defeated title rivals, and current champions, Halfway House Prudhoe 2-1.
Keeping the pressure up, Hexham Phoenix maintained their unbeaten record with a dramatic 4-3 success over FC Stocksfield.
Ryton and Crawcrook Albion went top of Division Two as they recorded a narrow 2-1 win over Haydon Bridge Anchor, Bardon Mill letting slip their pole position as they went down 3-2 to The Falcon Prudhoe.
