What should have been a routine win turned into a first half nightmare as Tynedale stormed into a 15-0 lead and Ealing's ex-Tynedale ace Sam Shires was in the sin bin.
Tynedale took the lead on six minutes, when a half break by Ben Frankland created the space for winger Peter Moralee to weave his way through half a dozen tackles to touch down for his 11th try of the season.
Number eight Ollie Stedman converted and added a penalty on 13 minutes.
A quick tap penalty by scrum half Harry Peck set up Moralee for his second try on 28 minutes to make it 15-0.
However, the home side lost concentration as the interval approached, and the deadly Phil Chesters scored twice to make it 15-10 at the break.
The scores were level 15 minutes into the second half when centre Tom Wheatcroft scored an unconverted try.
Good pressure brought a converted try for replacement Lee Starling to put Ealing ahead for the first time on the hour.
However, another penalty move by Peck resulted in a try for flanker Sam Reynolds on 67 minutes.
Stedman’s conversion brought the scores level.
A Wheatcroft penalty on 70 minutes put Ealing ahead, but Tynedale kept plugging away.
They were awarded a kickable penalty with five minutes left, but opted to find touch – and then offended at the line out.
Tynedale had to be content with yet another bonus point to take their total to 16 - more than any other team.
