Tynedale girls all get through

After many delays due to unplayable pitches, the U18 and U15 North East Regional girls’ rugby trials have finally taken place.
Tynedale had representatives in both age groups, and after strong performances, all the Tynedale girls attending the trials were offered places in the squads.
Those selected at U18 level were Katrine Hardy and Gina Lamb, and amongst the U15s were Lindsey Tait, Lydia Chadwick and Caity Mattinson.
The girls will hopefully go on to play their first two games on Sunday at Barnsley, against Yorkshire and East Midlands.
Haydon Bridge High School student Danielle Fleming has also been selected for the North East of England U18 ladies’ rugby team, following trials at Druids Park.
Danielle (15) of Haltwhistle also represents Northumberland Schools at U16 and U18 level, as well as playing for Tynedale Panthers.
