TWO teenage rugby players passed the test to earn a place in the North of England U18 representative final squad of 22.
Prudhoe’s Sean Brown and Stocksfield’s Nick Cairns impressed in a trial game with Newcastle Falcons Academy, despite the team losing 21-8.
Brown, a current Falcons Academy member, and Cairns, who plays for Tynedale Colts, will line up against Midlands in the opening divisional match on Sunday, weather permitting.

Saturday, June 16, 1934Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland, Sir Charles Trevelyan unveiled a series of murals at Acomb Youth Hostel which had been painted by pupils of King Edward VII School in Newcastle.
Sir Charles commented that membership of the Tyneside Hostel Movement, which included the Acomb hostel, was expanding rapidly and there were plans to open another hostel at Twice Brewed on the Military Road.
