Faint glimmer of hope for P&S

PRUDHOE and Stocksfield have the opportunity to pick up their first win of the season when they welcome second bottom Whitby tomorrow.

Still on -1 points for the season, Prudhoe drifted eight points off their rivals at the weekend when they lost 53-14 at Wallsend, and Whitby picked up a losing bonus point.

Meanwhile, a point in the 20-15 defeat at home to Blyth gave Ponteland hope that they can move off the foot of the Division One table.

They are four points off third bottom Bishop Auckland and aim to pick up the required victory when they entertain rivals Gosforth tomorrow.
