On a cold and occasionally snowy day at Druids Park, Newcastle, four of Tynedale's U15 rugby players braved the elements to help Northumberland to record wins over visitors East Yorkshire and Cumbria.

It was necessary to rotate players in order to give every player some game time, with a maximum of an hour each. . First up was a very strong East Yorkshire side who battled all the way, with Northumberland eventually winning 7-3.

In the Northumberland line was Tynedale's full back James Jordon playing on the right wing.

Unfortunately, he did not get much ball but looked impressive when he did,

Also in the starting line-up was Tynedale winger Michael Castelow playing in the unfamiliar position of second row.

Considering he had never played there before, he did exceptionally well in his 30 minute spell.

Next up to face a completely different Northumberland team was a very weak Cumbrian side, who were overwhelmed 42-14.

Again because of the rotational system Tynedale's two representatives had to make way for other players with Jake Sloan coming off at half time but not before playing a great game at centre, his usual position, and scoring a well deserved try.

Tynedale's magnificent forward Rhys Main, sporting a pink hair do, a legacy of his recent tour to London, also started the game and played some great rugby with some monster tackles going in.

He completely demoralised the Cumbrian pack before being replaced on 50 minutes, once the game was safe.
