Prudhoe topple Stockton to reach cup final

PRUDHOE Town toppled Wearside League leaders Stockton Town to secure their place in the final of the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup.

The Citizens from Kimberly Park earned a 3-2 success at cup favourites Stockton and will battle it out with Darlington Cleveland Bridge for the trophy.
Ponteland United are through to their second final of the season as they defeated rivals Heddon 3-1 in the Pin Point Recruitment Combination Cup.
There they will face Red House Farm, while they also learned they will meet Heaton Stannington in the final of the Northumberland FA Senior Benevolent Bowl after they eliminated Stocksfield at the semi-finals stage courtesy of a 3-1 triumph.
With the postponement of the Tynedale derby between Wallington and Hexham, Alston were the only local representatives in league action. But it was a grey day for them as they went down 4-1 at Wideopen and District.
Hexham Phoenix moved into second spot in the Hexham and District Sunday League with thanks to a narrow 4-3 win over Rose and Crown Bellingham.
Edging past rivals Prudhoe Town 2-1 saw Halfway House Prudhoe into the semis of the SCA Hygiene Division One KO Cup, and they were joined by Haltwhistle Conservatives who defeated Dr Syntax Prudhoe 5-1.
Making the final four of the second division cup was Haydon Bridge Anchor, Bardon Mill and The Falcon Prudhoe.
