Tense climax to season

HEXHAM squash club remain above the relegation zone despite their two most recent outings being cancelled.

But they still have it all to play for as they approach a busy month ahead which will make or break their season.

There was further disappointment for the club as the second team suffered two heavy defeats, losing 5-0 to both Chester-le-Street and Newcastle University II.

Although they are struggling to get the right results, many positives can be taken from Hexham III's recent performances.

Tim Blake was awarded the victory as they lost 4-1 to Dunston IV, his opponent retiring through injury - although Blake was leading at the time.

The thirds also lost 5-0 to Consett SD IV where the pick of the bunch was Dave Robson’s game when he went down 3-2.
