THE second round of Kielder’s Border Raid mountain bike race will go ahead tomorrow.
Organised by The Bike Place, the event is designed to bring novices and seasoned competitors together to compete over a distance of 55km.
The competitors will be taken from a starting point in Kielder Forest, across the Scottish border to Newcastleton trail centre before returning to Kielder, incorporating forest roads, single track and purpose built trails.
The series of three races, of which the last, Oktoberfest, is to be held later this year, will see all proceeds divided equally between the Great North Air Ambulance and Kielder Trail Reavers.

HAVING raised over £1,000 through prize draws, dances, whist drives and donations, Bellingham was able to buy its town hall.
So successful was the fund-raising that when all the debts were cleared more than £100 was left in the fund.
The hall could now be used by the town for all manner of social and public functions.
