Corbridge collect cup

CORBRIDGE U11 brought home the Northumberland County Cup as they defeated local rivals Tynedale in a high scoring game.

Batting first, Corbridge were in impressive form as they lost just one wicket, a run out, with county players Scott and Anderson finding the boundary regularly.

They set their opponents a formidable target of 264 to chase, Tynedale requiring four runs an over.

They got off to a a solid start, being on 230 after their first two pairs, but Corbridge kept it tight in the third pair and picked up a crucial wicket.

It came down to the last pair, and a couple of early fours gave Tyne hope but Tom Scott bowled Michael Watts to end Tynedale’s chase on 240.
