HALTWHISTLE Swimming and Leisure Centre has agreed a bumper 12-month sponsorship deal with mobile phone company TalkTalk.
The financial boost will be used to support Haltwhistle’s sport camps, which will be run for children over the summer holidays.
Nick Woof, manager at the centre, said: “As we are a charity, we work hard to raise funds to help keep the facilities at Haltwhistle open for the local community to see.
“The donation from TalkTalk is absolutely fantastic and we are very grateful for their support.”
The leisure centre was established in 1975 and, since 2003, has undergone significant modernisation to include three outdoor pools, a cafe, gym and astro turf pitch.
In addition to the support for the camps, the wider Haltwhistle and Featherstone district will receive a £50,000 cash injection as TalkTalk expands its Next Generation Network.
This will provide people living in the area with faster and more reliable broadband access.
Tristia Clark, commercial director at TalkTalk, said: “Investing in the local area allows us to bring our great value offers to even more families in the area and we are proud to be supporting Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre.
“It is in the heart of the community and we are delighted our donation will go towards new equipment.”
