TYNEDALE Ladies Hockey Club eased their way to victory over Newcastle IV, putting seven goals without reply past their opponents.
It was all too comfortable for Tynedale, Carole Weatherley getting the ball rolling immediately by converting a good pass from Hannah Porter.
Weatherley then added to her tally by finishing off a move instigated by Ffion Owen’s assist before securing her hat-trick when she finished off a flowing move.
It was four before half time, Tori Rutherford scoring a remarkable solo goal, picking the ball up from her own D and running through the defence before tapping the ball home.
Despite tiring, Tyne pressed on and Gemma Stanhope extended the lead after being played in again by Owen.
The scoring was rounded off with time running out, Rutherford touching home Weatherley’s cracking hit, before the provider notched her fourth as she earned her player of the match award.
The very next day, Tynedale travelled to league leaders Alnwick II and, despite tired legs from the previous day’s exertions, ran their hosts close before eventually falling to a 2-1 defeat.
They dominated possession but found themselves trailing at half time.
Alnwick found the decider after the break and Tynedale had nothing to show for an excellent performance.
