Hexham's Matt Wells is all set for his fourth Olympic Games.
Matt, who took the bronze medal in the double sculls in Beijing, has been named in the Great Britain quadruple scull team for his Olympic swan song.
He has already announced his retirement after the Games, and hopes to go out with a bang. He is pictured at the front of boat with his bronze medal winning partner Stephen Rowbotham, as well as Tom Solesbury and Charles Cousins.
Matt took part in the Olympics in Sydney and Athens before his Beijing glory, and rowing on home water will put the seal on a glittering career.
He plans to hang up his blades for good after a farewell regatta, featuring other Olympians, on Hexham’s Tyne Green on August 18.
