Reds show credentials

AFTER a rout over Wideopen Eagles, Heddon St Andrews Reds leaped to the top of the Churches Together Football League.

Their opponents are yet to pick up a point in the current campaign, and Heddon, captained by Thomas Apedaile, showed little sympathy by smashing seven goals past them.

The second game, against Whitley Bay, was not as straight forward as striker Johnny Ord put his spot kick over the crossbar as the scores remained goalless.

But the Reds showed their title credentials by putting constant pressure on the Bay defence before finishing the game as 3-1 victors.
