WYLAM Rockets Blues, already through to the semi-final of the Tyne Valley Insurance Tynedale U10s Mini-Soccer League Challenge Shield, were joined by Corbridge United Lions, Haydon Bridge and Prudhoe YC Boys on Saturday.

Luke Greenwood notched a first half hat-trick before excelling equally as well as the Wylam keeper after the break.
Callum Piggott also hit a treble, with the Rockets’ other goals coming from Jamie Barnard, Owen Cooper, Drew Hall and Andy Lowes.
It was a contest of the proverbial two halves, with Stocksfield trailing by four at the interval, before staging a second half mini rally.
Aaron Rourke starred between the posts during the opening period, before displaying his versatility outfield.
Feature of an entertaining affair was the diminutive visiting goalkeeper netting a brace of headers, with Matthew Bradley, Nathan Crozier and Jonny Tobin also scoring for Stocksfield.
With the top two battling it out in the Challenge Shield, this victory enables Wylam to join Throckley Magpies AC in joint second place , only two points behind leaders Haydon Bridge.
Elsewhere in the first division, there were wins for Wylam Rockets Apollo and Hexham over Corbridge Utd and Prudhoe YC Reds respectively.
Apollo continue to impress, with this 3-0 defeat of Corbridge, although they were indebted to keeper Geoffrey Bowes for some great first half saves.
Constant pressure finally paid off with the versatile Joseph Dalton prominent in clinching maximum points.
Sam Anderson opened the Wylam side’s account with a screamer from the edge of the box, with Ben Shinefine and Sam Dibb-Fuller adding further goals.
George Cook,Elliot Jeffrey, David Scott, Richard Brooks, Patrick Dryden and Will Shrimpton were amongst the goals as Hexham proved too strong for Prudhoe YC Reds.

Haydon Bridge U9s kept in contention for league honours by edging out Hexham Greens 2-1.
The Haydonians got off to a perfect start with David Robson scoring after only 30 seconds, but parity was restored with a Seth Kippax-Jones goal.
Morgan Anderson won the ball in defence to find Robson, and this led to Kian Rock cracking home a spectacular shot on the turn for the eventual winner.
Cavan Scott starred in midfield for Haydon Bridge, with defender Alex Wood excelling for Hexham, who remain within striking distance of a top two spot.
Second half goals by man of the match Ben Bloomer (2). Andy Matfin (2) and Daniel Craigie gave Prudhoe YC Blues a 5-0 win over neighbours Wylam Rockets Whites, despite a fine display by visiting keeper William Westgarth.
The impressive Greg Cairns hit a first half goal for Prudhoe YC Yellows in their derby match away to Wylam Rockets Tynedale.
However, the introduction of second half substitute Archie McDonald was instrumental in Tynedale countering strongly.
Their pressure paid off with goals by Josh Keller and Tony Tarbitt giving them a 2-1 victory.
For once, the weather and ground conditions were kind to mini-soccer, and a full programme of games were completed, with Haltwhistle United playing host to Hexham Whites and winning 9-2.
Ewan Mitchell notched a hat-trick , with Adam Archibald, Jake Shipley, and Billy Walton all scoring doubles.
Ben Elliott took the man of the match honours for Halty, with Tom Robson gaining the plaudit for the visitors who netted through Mark Hodgson and Thomas Lewis.
A huge fixture backlog is looming, and weather permitting, the fulfilment of programmed fixtures is essential, with consideration given to switching fixtures if some grounds are unavailable.
By tradition, Easter Weekend is normally free, but teams are being encouraged to rearrange games then, even if they struggle to raise a seven-man team.
This would be everyone’s advantage, as further disruption of fixtures could lead to the President’s Trophy competitions being suspended.
