Happy Hotspurs

HEXHAM were red hot as they lifted the trophy at this year’s Tynedale Mini-Soccer League U9 5-a-side competition.

Tournament sponsor Alex Waters, league officials and Wentworth staff join the group photograph of Plate winners Stocksfield B and overall winners Hexham Hotspurs.

The Hotspurs team came away with the Sam Oliver Shield after they defeated Corbridge United Inter 3-2 in the final. In an end-to-end encounter, two goals from Olly Cave and one from George McArthur guaranteed the success, with Toby Douglas and Nelson Da Silva replying for Inter.

The President’s Plate, contested by the losing semi-finalists went to Stocksfield.
