Griffins rue misses

STOCKSFIELD passed up the opportunity to move away from the drop zone as they were held to a 2-2 draw at near rivals Killingworth Sporting.

Victory for the Griffins would have sent them above their opponents, but they were left ruing missed opportunities with just one point to their name.

Leading scorer Chris Hall and Declan Stokle got their names on the scoresheet for Stocksfield, but Killingworth grabbed a share of the spoils courtesy of a Nathan Castle strike and a Connal Reed penalty.

On the plus side for Stocksfield, teenager Darren Graham put in a man of the match performance to show that the youth policy at the club is really starting to pay dividends.
