Greens go for league and cup double

HEXHAM U13 Greens celebrated lifting the league title by booking their place in the semi-finals of the League Cup.

The North East Youth Development League champions breezed past Lemington Lions with Jack Feeley, Alex Wood, Tom Robson, Bradley Harris Graham, Harrison Waller, James Bowes, Seth Kippax Hones, William Turnbull, James Watson and man of the match Edward Atherton all on target.

Missing from the photograph is Patrick Lally, Vinnie Proudlock and Michael Watt.

Hexham U12 earned a creditable goalless draw with Blyth Spartans, while Hexham U15 settled for a point as they drew 2-2 with Cramlington.

Elsewhere, Hexham U11 became the first team this season to take points off Tynemouth Yellows with a fine 2-2 draw, but Hexham U12 Greens lost 6-0 to Tynemouth United Blues.

Hexham U12 Whites won't want to see the season end having hit a rich vein of form, beating North Shields Athletic 3-1 then scoring the only goal in the victory over North Shields Magpies.

Hexham U13 Whites lost 6-1 at Haltwhistle, Hexham U15 went down to a surprise 5-2 defeat at Newcastle East End Blues while Hexham U17 lost by the same scoreline at home to Cullercoats.
