Would-be sports coaches have the opportunity to pick up qualifications over the next few weeks.

Tynedale Sports Council is inviting applications for grant aid towards the cost of any coaching.

Contact secretary Matt Bewick on (01434) 613220 for an application form.

In addition, a football coaching Level 1 certificate course starts at Haydon Bridge High School at the end of next month.

It is open to anyone over 16 years old, who is attached to a Tynedale football club.

Starting at the end of March, the course will run through to the assessment day in May.

It will take place at Haydon Bridge Football Club who have kindly donated the facilities free of charge.
