Rain is the winner

RAIN continues to play havoc with the league cricket programme.

No games in the first or second divisions of the West Tyne League survived the weather on Saturday.

Tynedale only managed to eke out 18 overs of their home at Morpeth. But their efforts were enough to earn single bonus point to strengthen their lead at the top of the table.

One of the few games to conclude in the region was the one between Corbridge and Ashington Rugby in the Northumberland League.

Sadly, Corbridge remain anchored at the bottom, after being bowled out for just 35 in an eight wicket defeat.
