Wentworth Fun Day

HUNDREDS of families with young children kick-started their half term holiday with a day of family fun in Hexham.

Tots from birth to five-years-old, and their siblings, were given the chance to get active and creative as Wentworth Leisure Centre’s sports hall was transformed for a free sporty fun day on Monday.

Boreholes were to be sunk on a site destined for old people's flats at West Wylam.

Work was due to start on the houses at the end of August, but Prudhoe Urban Council decided to sanction the test drilling after fears the properties' foundations would need reinforcing because of subsidence.
