Veggie discrimination claim is just nonsense

IN REPLY to Peter Arnold’s letter (Courant, October 28) I really don’t know what Mr Arnold’s problem is.
So he didn’t think Hexham Golf Club was conducive to vegetarian taste – did he really look around?
My husband and I are not vegetarians but a high percentage of our family are and we have never found it a problem to eat out in Hexham.
He talks about discrimination against vegetarians; what nonsense!
There is at least one specialist vegetarian restaurant in Hexham and most other venues have excellent vegetarian options.
We had a family get-together on Tuesday with both adults and children who are vegetarians and it was no problem at all.
This ‘blatant discrimination’ he talks about is, quite frankly, non-existent.
I suggest he does his homework before his next visit, and if he is adamant about telling his vegetarian friends not to visit Hexham I can refer them to a great number of vegetarian friends who can refute this.
