Sci-fi robot

THE fuss over the wind turbine at Hexham racecourse has convinced me of one thing. This planning application has nothing to do with being environmentally friendly. It’s all about making money. It’s a get rich quick scheme.
Anyone can see that the turbine will be too big. It will dominate the skyline. You will be able to see it for miles around. It’s the first thing you’ll see when you come into Hexham from the A69. It’ll be a great advert for the racecourse, but it’ll ruin the town.
What’s needed here is a smaller turbine, with a different design. How about solar panels on the roof of the grandstand? It faces south, so it’ll get all the sun.
If this thing gets built, it’ll be like some sci-fi robot lowering over Hexham, keeping its beady eye on what we do.
Like most other folk, I think getting power from the sun, the wind and the sea is a good thing. This planning application, however, is definitely a bad thing and it should be dumped.
