Mish-mash

I FOUND the Olympic Opening ceremony drearily and parochially left wing.

The supra-national culture-subsuming mish-mash which was paraded failed in the Soviet Union and now in the European Union.

But of course this ceremony was a spectacular start to the opposite – individual achievement of the highest order by disciplined athletes representing nations and their individual cultures.

I also objected of course to references to CND (unilalteral nuclear disarmament) and the disastrous NHS (whose incompetence killed one of my friends and condemned others to premature deaths).

I always find it amusing that the Left parades the Jarrow March as a left wing cause but in fact the march was in support of a private capitalist company Palmers which had been closed by a combination of the Government and the Bank of England arbitrarily deciding that Palmers shipyards should close, so that politically better connected yards could stay open!

A classic socialist stitch up!

Ninety-five per cent of the world wide audience would have been perplexed and most of the British audience, educated by a socialist education system, would have been equally ignorant of the allusions!
