Losing out

ANOTHER week, another example of over zealous even aggressive conduct by our wardens reported in your columns.
This punitive regime is new to the town and is damaging to its economy and shopping experience.
This change is due to the transfer of control powers from the police to our county council and its desire to milk the cash cow.
It would be interesting to know how much money is being taken in parking charges and fines from Hexham, which is quantifiable, in addition to the loss of revenue from shoppers deterred by the regime, which is not.
Perhaps the Courant could find out.
