Green belt

I WAS puzzled to read that Guy Opperman is attacking the County Council for its ‘dirty little secret’ about building in the green belt (Courant, January 18).

It is no secret that the official policy of the Conservative-led Government is to build thousands of houses in the green belt, which it is pressurising councils all over the country to implement.

This policy is supported by Mr Opperman in London – but not in Northumberland ! Another ‘dirty little secret’?
