Fire station

PRUDHOE did well last week with almost two pages of coverage about the proposed new fire station (Courant, February 19).
There are obviously strong feelings in Prudhoe about this issue.
As the funding is in place, a site found (owned of course by county council) and planning permission approved, it is a foregone conclusion it will go ahead even though it is on a main road, surrounded by houses and has a school next door!
It fascinated me to learn that a very suitable site on the industrial estate is not possible as it lies on a flood plain.
Are all the factories on the estate aware of this fact and are their insurers also aware of this?
