Environment fears

IT saddens me to think that the proposed development in Prudhoe town centre is to go ahead, subject to approval by the Secretary of State.
Like Coun. Bill Garrett, I too was born and bred in Prudhoe, but can give him many more years. There are quite a lot of us around, you know.
The said councillor states that this development will put the heart back into Prudhoe (Courant, June 22).
On the contrary, it is my opinion, it will take it right out.
‘Putting the heart back’ reminds me of another councillor who passed this remark regarding The Glade. What a mess this area is!
Our elected representatives should be considering the environment – not destroying it.
There will be noise, traffic fumes and light pollution. These are just a few things.
And how about the folk living in the nearby vicinity having to endure the aforementioned and having high permanent walls to look at?
Perhaps some of the councillors in favour of this application might care to opt living there – I doubt it.
