Devotion to duty

WE were upset to read your feature on the latest English Heritage list of historic properties at risk (Courant, October 19), which implied that Haydon Old Church was neglected.
We are aware of the slight leak in the roof and funds have been put aside to repair this, following the church architect’s recent inspection.
The church is looked after by a devoted team. Seven services are held each year and at the recent harvest festival the church was full.
