Carnival success

AFTER days of heavy rain, the skies dried up and the field was dry enough, so Haltwhistle Carnival took place last Sunday. And what a day it was.
The weather was fine and dry, even a touch of sunburn was achieved, so on behalf of the carnival committee can I say a big thank you to all who turned out to support the event.
The Olympic Torch arrived in Haltwhistle flanked by athletes and was also supported by film stars, pop stars, and TV celebrities and that was just on the floats. The standard just gets better every year.
Lots of work goes on behind the scenes to put all the events together, so thanks to all helpers and sponsors who are never seen.
Also, from myself, big thanks to the committee for all their hard work and effort; it paid off brilliantly.
