Care workers

ONCE again I write to give a huge thank you and pay tribute to the care workers who have provided care and support to vulnerable people in their own homes during the spells of snow and ice.
Many roads remained untreated, especially on the estates, which meant the care worker had to park their cars and walk miles.
Schools close as teachers cannot get to work, but that is not an option for care staff whose clients rely on them getting through.
We must also say a big thank you to the clients themselves, their families and neighbours who accepted the situation the care workers were in and pulled together. Community spirit is never higher than situations like this.
Whether the care workers work for Helping Hands Community Care, Tynedale Care, Burn Brae Care or the county council care team they deserve Olympian style medals.
