Bun fight

ONCE again, Coun. Bradbury (Courant Letters, July 20) and others have joined in a bun fight over the use of private contractors to carry out various tasks.

Having experienced the inadequate services provide by private companies – grass cutting, Northumbrian Water sewage running into the streets – and the public sector – the county council’s own gulley cleaning operations – I conclude there is no difference in the outcome.

There is poor service and no action.

While Coun. Bradbury waffles on, Prudhoe has been drowning in sewage, plodging through waterlogged streets, falling over ill repaired roads, pavements and failing street lighting! What has he done? He has had a pop at Guy Opperman and now another councillor.
