Begin at home

I note in the article on the Tynedale Beer Festival in Corbridge (Courant July 27) that the majority of the money raised was going, among other charities, to St. Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth.
This is a very worthy cause, I know, but it seems a shame that Tynedale Hospice at Home which gives care, in their homes, to people suffering life limiting diseases as well as running a bereavement counselling service for both adults and children, in Tynedale and beyond, was not one of the main beneficiaries.
Like a lot of charities it has had its funding cut and needs all the money it can get.
