A diamond occasion for town’s community spirit

WHAT a day we Prudhoe folk had celebrating theDiamond Jubilee on June 3.
Huge turn-out: The crowded scene in Front Street for the Jubilee celebrations in Prudhoe.
The occasion and the vast number of people momentarily brought back the community spirit Prudhoe and the surrounding villages once had.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Rev. Charles Hope, as coordinator and the eight-person committee which organised the celebration in Prudhoe.
Each member of the committee did more than their call of duty.
The businesses and people of Prudhoe came together on the day and resulted in a very memorable occasion.
Hopefully, more of this community spirit will be evident in future.
