Privacy is impossible in swimming pool
Last updated 13:39, Thursday, 02 October 2008
I RECENTLY returned to my native North-East for a short break. I was amused to read all of the recent correspondence about Hexham’s new swimming pool.
If individuals have issues with their bodies and privacy, then swimming pools are not for them.
In Australia, swimming is a way of life. All ages, shapes and sizes utilise the swimming facilities. Many are outdoor, where anybody can look in. They don’t care. Why should we?
The new facility at Wentworth looks great. I only hope it is as robust as the pool in Gilesgate. Early signs indicate some cheaper quality materials might not last as long. I hope I am wrong.
I did enjoy swimming in the old pool, as the deep water aided fast swimming. This concept was used at Bejing to facilitate many world record times in the pool.
Whilst not perfect, everyone involved is to be congratulated on delivering a new pool to the area.
