Wall of light is spectacular success

HADRIAN'S Wall was lit from coast to coast on Saturday night, igniting interest across the globe.
Around 1,000 volunteers, many from overseas, lit beacons at regular intervals on the World Heritage site, creating a line of light stretching from Wallsend to Carlisle.
Hadrian's Wall Heritage Ltd, which organised the event, declared the venture a spectacular success.
