THOUSANDS of pounds of cash was stolen from McDonalds in Elton Way, Bushey, last month after thieves broke into the fast food restaurant.
Between the hours of 12.30am and 5am on Monday, November 19, between two and four offenders forced entry to the restaurant through the roof. They stole money from the safe and caused a significant amount of damage.
DS Owen Weatherill, who is investigating the crime, said: "We believe that this incident occurred shortly after 12.30am and offenders were in the restaurant for a considerable amount of time, possibly two to three hours.
"The A41 is a busy road even at this time in the morning and motorists may have seen offenders climbing on to the roof or even carrying ladders and tools to or from the restaurant."
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information can contact DS Weatherill on 01707 638218 or call the central area crime desk on 01707 638102.
