Pre-school looks for new premises in Corbridge

CORBRIDGE Pre-School has launched a £20,000 fund-raising campaign which will enable it to move to a new site.
The childcare facility, which is run by a committee of parents and was established more than 30 years ago, is based in the village’s Methodist Church Hall on Princes Street and currently looks after up to 16 toddlers, four mornings each week.
But the need to smooth the transition for youngsters from pre-school to the nursery at Corbridge First School on St Helen’s Lane is one of the reasons behind the move.

Work was due to start on the houses at the end of August, but Prudhoe Urban Council decided to sanction the test drilling after fears the properties' foundations would need reinforcing because of subsidence.
