A PANTOMIME, The Woodcutter and the Wolf, will be performed at Otterburn Club tomorrow starting at noon. There will be free popcorn and juice for the children and young people, and hot-dogs for sale.
Drinks and snacks from the bar can also be purchased. After the pantomime there will be party games and a visit from Santa. It all sounds very exciting.
Moira Pattison tells me that everyone is welcome but that children and young people under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There will be no charge for children under three years.
JOHN Edwards tells me that the Golden Bells Tour will be performing in concert at Elsdon village hall on Thursday, December 4, starting at 7.30pm.
The concert provides a taste of Northumberland music and stars Brenda Heslop and the Ribbon Band, Roly Johnson, the Real Thing, Gemma Telfer and other mus-icians. Tickets are available from the Border Reiver or by contacting (01830) 520477.
John also asks me to remind you about the table top sale at the village hall on Saturday, December 6, between 10am and 1pm. Anyone wishing to book a table should phone (01830) 520526.
THE Otterburn children’s party fund would like to thank all of the following: John and Elizabeth Goodfellow, for allowing them the use of Otterburn Tower for their Hallowe’en party on Friday, Octo-ber 31; Clive Emerson, for donating the fireworks and refreshments for the bonfire night celebrations on Friday, November 7; and all the parents and residents, especially Otterburn Hall, who donated prizes for the recent prize bingo.
Congratulations are due to all concerned. These three events raised a grand total of £814.
OTTERBURN Memorial Hall committee will be holding its ever-popular whist drive on Friday, December 12, at 7.30pm. Supper will be provided.
The event will be held in the hall and the organisers would welcome the donation of prizes. Please contact Mary White on (01830) 520577 for further information.
FOLLOWING the item in these notes last week about event planning, Mary White tells me that the secretaries of a number of village halls in the Rede and North Tyne valleys are co-ordinating their diaries in an additional effort to avoid events conflicting for dates.
Mary is happy to receive information about events you are planning and to pass on the information to the other village halls.
THERE will be an Advent carol service on Sunday, December 7, at Holy Trinity, Horsley. The service starts at 3pm and will be followed by refreshments.
CONTRIBUTIONS for these notes can be faxed to 0870 1342748 or emailed to me at my new email address which is ea4news@btinternet. com
