Cloggies set sparks flying

THE clog irons sparked at Newbrough Town Hall when the venue staged the Northern Counties Clog Dancing Championship for the first time.
The event was so successful, the organisers are considering holding the event at Newbrough again next year
For the third successive year the winner was 22-year-old Rebecca Metcalf, of Durham, who will be presented with a souvenir belt to represent her achievements.
Entries were higher than expected in both senior and junior categories.
