DINERS at the Lion and Lamb pub at Horsley were treated to dishes created by celebrity chef Simon Rimmer.

The Something for the Weekend and Saturday Kitchen star dropped in to demonstrate four dishes to complement a new range of soft drinks.

In a marquee pitched in the pub’s beer garden, invited guests were shown how to prepare everything from a smoked salmon salad to pasta with duck and turkey, before being able to taste the dishes for themselves.

Pub owner Tony Milne said: “After Simon’s cook off, which is what we were calling it, our chefs recreated the dishes he had demonstrated and served them to customers.

“He is a very personable guy who took the time to go round each table and speak to the customers afterwards,” Tony added.
