TONIGHT the film club at SICA is showing The Proposal which features stunning scenery of Alaska. This starts at 7pm for 7.30pm and tickets are available on the door. The price includes refreshments.
TOMORROW morning, PC Angela Tomlinson will be host her monthly surgery at Boots the Chemist, Branch End, between 9am and 10am.
This is an opportunity for people to go along and speak to the police about any issues or concerns they may have.
TOMORROW afternoon the children’s film club at SICA will show Where the wild things are, starting at 2.15pm.
Please accompany all children under 10 years of age.
Refreshments will be organised by Broomley First School PTA, so come early to enjoy hotdogs and pop corn etc.
ON Wednesday, March 10, John Moreels will talk to Stocksfield Local History Society about Nostalgic Views of the North-East, featuring some glass slides which have been unearthed in Newcastle.
The meeting will take place in SICA at 7.30pm.
THERE will be a primrose planting day in the children’s play area of Stocksfield Community Garden on Saturday, March 13, from 10am until noon.
A Mothers’ Day event, primroses or small cornus (dogswood) can be sponsored on the day for mums and grandmas.
ON Wednesday, March 17, Keith Gilroy from Woodhorn Colliery Museum will give an Introduction to family history, from 7pm until 8.30pm, at SICA.
This is a free session, but places must be booked by contacting Mary Turner on (01670) 528080 (Wednesday-Sunday).

GET those little grey cells working and come along to the quiz night at SICA on Friday, March 19 at 7.30pm.
You can enter either as a team (maximum six people) or as an individual.

Refreshments will be available, but bring your own drink and glasses.
AT the latest meeting of Stocksfield Retired Men’s Association,well-known historian Geoff Hughes used an entertaining picture quiz to illustrate his talk on Northumbria.
Geoff projected his delightful pictures on to a screen and although members were able to recognise most of them, he gave a most interesting talk on the background to features and buildings.
His close involvement with the National Trust was an obvious advantage.
LAST month’s bring and buy sale in SICA in aid of the Haiti Earthquake Appeal was arranged by Churches Together in Stocksfield and Mickley, and raised in the region of £2,000.
