Heddon news

HEDDON Football Club started its pre-season friendly games away to Birtley on Saturday, July 24.

With a number of players unavailable to play due to holiday commitments, this gave manager Warren Fisher a chance to have a look at the new players.

They didn’t disappoint.

Heddon put pressure on Birtley throughout the first half creating various chances with one just striking off the crossbar.

But just before half-time Birtley managed to slot a goal past the Heddon keeper.

The second half was similar to the first, but Heddon finally got the leveller, to finish 1-1.

HEDDON St Andrew’s Seniors hosted West Moor (Killingworth) last Sunday, July 25, at Selman Park, with a lot of new local players turning out.

Managers Richard Adams and Gary Howorth gave everyone a game and were impressed with the football, as it showed some promising performances from everyone.

The game finished 2-2.

HEDDON Methodist Church is hosting a Kidz Holiday Klub for 5-10 year olds at the church.

The sessions started yesterday, July 29, and will run every Thursday throughout the school holidays, 10am-11.30am.

Any queries about the Klub, ring (01661) 852309.
