THE fifth annual flower and vegetable show will take place at the Railway Hotel tomorrow. All entries must be benched by 1pm with judging taking place at 2pm. There will be cash prizes awarded to the biggest and the best! Andy Milburn will be providing the entertainment in the evening from 8.30pm, with a free supper and the raffle draw adding to the entertainment.

Entries will be auctioned from noon on Sunday, and money raised will be donated to the Air Ambulance.

THE coffee morning will also take place at the Railway tomorrow, from 10am.

TONIGHT, it’s karaoke night at the Haydonian Social Club from 9pm until midnight. Over 18s only please.

BRIDGESTOCK is coming on Saturday, September 11, between noon and 8pm Shaftoe Green will be alive with free music from local bands, including The Promise, Community Band, Sunshine Panners and the Street Martins. Children’s entertainment will be presided over by Doris (remember the street party). Shaftoe Trust First School will be running a tea, coffee and light refreshment stall during the afternoon. Hog roast and burgers will be available or take a picnic! A bar will run from 4pm until 8pm.

Worried about the weather? Well no need – take along your gazebo (borrow one if you don’t have one or find someone to share with). Pitches for gazebos are available for a small fee for the day. Book your pitch now at Claire’s newsagents.

There will be a £50 prize for the best-decorated gazebo on the day. A free bus will be provided from the library at noon, 2pm and 4pm for senior citizens. Don’t worry, you will be brought back down again later.

THE social club has a family prize bingo evening on Saturday, September 4, eyes down at 7.30pm. The evening includes a picture quiz and Tin Can Alley. Donations for prizes would be most welcome.
