THANKS to those of you who attended the pantomime meeting last week.

We’re still very short of men – including two talented comedians to play the ugly sisters. There are a few other male roles, too, some of which are quite short.

Come on, lads, now is not the time for false modesty; we need your talents.

WE are all missing the village shop, but there is a regular Monday afternoon bread delivery around the village.

HAS your young, all-black, green-eyed cat gone missing?

Do not despair, it has been claiming free board and lodging with us for the past 10 days.

This is a very child-friendly animal which has made itself very much at home. All the same, our ginger tom would prefer us to hand the black cat back to his original owner.

NOW that the school holidays have arrived, our village children can make full use of the superb new play equipment in Redburn Park.

Do encourage them to use the bins provided for their sweetie and crisp wrappers. Parents can also help out by collecting litter and binning it neatly.

A REMINDER about the church coffee morning on Saturday, August 21, in the Methodist church hall, Haltwhistle, from 9.30am.

Helpers are needed to man the stalls and for serving refreshments/washing up.

Raffle and tombola prizes would also be welcomed, as would produce, bric-a-brac and books.

THE 2nd annual Gladiators’ Challenge will be held on Sunday, August 29, on the sports field from noon.

This promises to be a fun day with lots going on, so ring Liz Stokoe (01434) 344729, if you’re interested in entering a team, would like to set up a stall, or can help on the day.
