Man in hospital after pub attack

A 31-YEAR-OLD is recovering in hospital after sustaining facial injuries during an assault at a North Tyne pub.

Police were called to The Grey Bull Inn on Main Street in Wark, just before 9pm on Saturday, December 22.
The injured man was taken to Newcastle’s RVI for treatment by the ambulance service and is said to be in a stable condition.
Officers are now carrying out inquiries in the village in an attempt to establish what happened.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
