Jarman appeals against murder conviction

THE man jailed for life for the brutal murder of Hexham pensioner Judith Richardson is bidding to appeal against his conviction.

Graeme Jarman

Graeme Jarman was found guilty of murder last month after a three-week trial at Newcastle Crown Court.
Miss Richardson (77) was found dead in her home in St Wilfrid’s Road in August last year. She had been struck repeatedly across the head with a hammer.
Jarman has made an application to the Court of Appeal, and in due course a judge will decide whether to grant him leave to appeal against the conviction.
