SERVICES at Haltwhistle’s Swimming and Leisure Centre are under threat due to a funding crisis.
Members of Haltwhistle Town Council have been toldalmost £18,000 needs to be spent as a matter or urgency, or some facilities could close at the centre, which operates as an independent charity.
Leaking roofs above the squash court and store area for swimming pool equipment iscausing damage to the floor and ceiling, while water from gutters is dripping through the edges of the roof.
In addition, damage has been caused to perimeter fencing by vandals.
