RIDING Mill’s Ian Lockey has been given the responsibility to increase the CLA’s presence in the North-East.
Mr Lockey, of Sandy Bank, has joined the rural organisation as field officer for South Northumberland and Durham.
Prior to joining the CLA, Ian worked in the financial services industry before taking a career break to travel around the world with his family.
His appointment comes at a busy time for the CLA as members continue to take advantage of the organisation’s advisory services and rely on the CLA’s lobbyists to give the rural North-East a voice.
Mr Lockey said: “I am very much enjoying my new role as field officer. I love getting out and about meeting interesting people, seeking to understand the many pressures they face and explaining the many benefits of CLA membership which can help them.
“This is a fine association with a vital role to play and I am proud to be a part of it.”
CLA North-East director Angus Collingwood-Cameron commented: “Ian has only been with us a short time but has hit the ground running.
“His wide experience has already made him a valuable member of the team.
“His presence in the region is a very positive step for the CLA.”
